Sometimes when you read something online, it’s hard to tell who actually wrote it—a person, or a computer program called an AI. One type of AI that can write things is called a large language model (or LLM for short), like ChatGPT. These tools are trained on tons of writing and can answer questions or explain ideas, but they don’t think like humans do. They don’t know if something is true, and they don’t have opinions—they’re just really good at predicting what words might come next.

That’s why it’s important to keep AI-generated content separate from things written by a real person. When you know something came from an LLM, you can be more careful about how you trust it. You might want to double-check the facts or think about how it was written.

It’s also helpful to know which model was used and when the response was made. LLMs get updated over time—older versions might be less accurate, or missing new information. If you know the model and the date, you have a better sense of how current or reliable the answer might be.

Basically: separating human writing from AI writing helps keep things honest. And knowing where the AI response came from helps you decide how to use it.
